![]() ![]() Blofeld is Bond's foster brother.spends a large part of his life obsessing over him.įelt like it fell into the problem the Star Wars sequels did - "oh let's make an overarching storyline that keeps going and ahhh shit where were we going with this oh yes, here we go, let's sprinkle in a liiiiiitle bit of backstory to tease the fans, that's what it was meant to be but shit now we're in a corner and how do we get out of it OH LET'S BRING BACK BLOFELD, ah fuck we caught him uh uh uh how do we one-up it and throw out all the rules - oh we kill Spectre in one go, kill Felix, give Bond a kid, try to recapture the Vesper vibe with only moderate success, and uhhhhhhhhhh kill Bond!" ![]() Mr.White kills Vesper, Bond kills Mr.White, has a kid with Mr.White's daughter, Safin rescues Mr.White's daughter, wants to bone her. The finale should have been him rescuing the kid only to find out its not his and ends on a sardonic quip and relapse into happy-go-lucky womanizing ways. There should have been a few adventures of the cold professional interspersed with humanizing episodes like Skyfall. They ruined the weight of the ending in the book where you see the evolution of Bond into a 'blunt weapon of the State'. The Craig era movies are trying to give Bond emotional depth to make them more character-driven, so everything has to be 'personal' for Bond in some way. ![]() I think the problem is that Eon saw the critical success Casino Royale got, and they decided that all Bond movies needed to be like that from now on. ![]()
